"This machine-based drawing on marble appears to have its roots in 1847 in The Magazine of Science with a Mr Kingston involved. The other citations that I found were essentially repeats of this report. Perhaps by expanding your search earlier you…"

"I happened to know Drummond St in Edinburgh and it certainly didn't sound like a Parisian address so that was the first place that I turned.  A fine online resource is the superb and freely available collection of PODs for Edinburgh: …"

Larry, I'm not sure if this is the proper way to contact you...

I bought the Orleans Talbotype on ebay about 10 years ago. I took a chance- the seller was in Colorado and was offering the 1846 and 1847 issues of the Art Union. Everything else he was selling was furniture. I bought them both for 51 dollars, hoping it hadn't been removed, and was pleasantly surprised!

I am an amateur collector at best, New York City public school art teacher with very limited funds, but just incredibly interested in the early history of photography.

Please let me know what else you would like to know about it!

Thanks, David McGreevy
