"Ruth, if you ever find a Guttenberg cdv from Whitby do let me see it. However I think he was in Whitby a bit too early for cdv and in 1860 or 1861 probably produced Whitby portraits on his Scarborough mounts.   Cheers Ron  "

Hi. A bit of background. Owner of the Victorian Image Collection, an archive of over 200,000 carte de visite & cabinet cards. See www.cartedevisite.co.uk (for family historians and those that want to date their old family photographs between 1840 - 1940) and www.victorianimagecollection.co.uk (a picture library of family portraits, fashions and activities).
Working closely with Sandy Barrie and Marcel Safier from Australia.
