12201197462?profile=originalMike Wells is looking for a run of Weekly Illustrated magazine to consult for 1943 as part of research he is undertaking in to Jimmy Jarché.  In addition he is interested to know of anyone who may have a list of his assignments during the 1940s. Jarché's book People I Have Shot is too early for this, dating from the mid-1930s.

  • It would be worth contacting the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford for info on James Jarche - they hold the photographic archive of the Daily Herald, one of the newspapers Jarche worked for in the 1930s/1940s.
  • I have access to a box of Illustrated magazines 1943-1948. - call or email me if you still require -  my details on the PPHP site

  • I believe this is an Odhams Press title, published with the one word title “Illustrated” from 1939. It is held in the British Library, Oxford, Cambridge and perhaps other national libraries. I have not actually seen issues. I wonder if it was a good for photography as “Picture Post”?
