Hi David- I have two photographs by J.M.C one of Herschel and one depicting The Angel at the Sepulchre they measure 133x110 and110x85 respectively. These photographs came with an miniature album purchased from a sale at Youlgrave Hall near Litchfield. H.H. Camerons wife lived at that address in the thirties and the sale was on the premises about 25 years ago. Unfortunately I could not get the owner of the miniature album to sell it to me but I know his family sold it later to a museum. Hope this helps. Chris
Hi David - The Civil War exhibition was stunning though it has now closed at the Met but will be at Charleston, S.C. then New Orleans. I have no regrets about going over for such a short visit. The Cameron show was also very good but quite small. Discovered that MoMA was doing a 75th anniversary showing on Walker Evans' American Photographs which was also superb though didn't include all the images from the 1938 show. Jeff Rosenheim who curated the Civil War exhibition has written an excellent book on this but there is neither a book nor a catalogue of the Cameron show.
