Geoff, you mentioned there might be problems when we met. At least the information gathered will still aid Karen and hopefully she can get her thesis published to stand as some of the most up to date work on Beard and Claudet. Good luck for your move to NZ. I will be holidaying in England and France in May/June. Maybe I will see you in Canberra at the Asian photography conference? Cheers! Marcel

Karen is the best person to answer this. I'll prod her to do so. gb

      Hello Geoff,

Have you come across any connection between William Edward Kilburn and Claudet. The Kilburns appear to have French connections.

      regards Gael

Geoff, How is the exhibition preparations going? I see Karen made an appeal to this group for info. Hopefully I will be in Rochester for the Photohistory conference in Oct and in Philadelphia in Nov for the Daguerreian Society Symposium, Swine Flu notwithstanding (or should I say Flu A so as not to offend pigs!). I have found a number of previously unknown Australian daguerreotypists by trawling the newspapers which has quite surprised me. There is obviously still a lot of research to be done here. Might see you at one of the USA events perhaps? Cheers! Marcel
