Lovely meeting you yesterday at the RPS day of reconstructions and demonstrations. This is the Verascope story, which I think you already know about. There is also one William England image on Getty Images Wall Street 1859.
Dear Gelind,
I would be delighted to help and share information. Did you know that William England was related by marriage to Walter Bentley Woodbury?
Muriel
Hi Gerlind
I collect stereoviews of the Alps and my interest in William England is purely his Alpine Club series. I have around 300 of these views, which is maybe around one third of the total issued including variants. I am also a member of the Alpine Club. They possess an album of photographs from his first tour of the Alps in 1863 with 150 images in it (24 5x4 inch and 126 stereo singletons).
happy to help on anything to do with this series of photos
regards
Peter
Hello Gerlind
Have sent scans of some Sandringham views - like all LSC views they are not credited to William England , but are very much in his style
I assume you have been in touch with Hartmut Wettman who is a keen collecter of WE in Germany & Peter Blair , also on this site is a collector of WE Swiss views
Graham
