I was a student at the LCC Central School of Arts and Crafts in London between 1960-63, taught Art History by Aaron Schaaf, and, (undercover) photographic history including the development of graphic art reproduction. He was my first contact with an art historian who took photography seriously, as did, I must say, EH Gombrich some of whose lectures I attended at the Warburg Institute.
Yes I found out lots and have more recently got images he took during the first war. Not quite Holodomor importance but still unusual. Ask me anything and I will tell you. I've made a conceptual book based on my research which I'm hoping I can get published one day.
