What I found fascinating in the process of providing some help to Noel with his book was the Frith family's background as silhouette artists (in England and Scotland) before moving into photography. I wonder if many other photographers hads this background? The book is very attractively produced and the extensive research was a real labour of love by Noel, a Frith descendant. This family is not related to Francis Frith of Reigate.
