Circa 1870's a highly unusual carte-de-visite photograph by W.Runicles, Eton.It shows a head in strange head dress / wig with partially whited out eyes and ectoplasm protruding from the mouth. Under magnification the 'ectoplasm' has formed into a head with centre parting viewed from the front/top.This very strange photograph came to me as part of a collection of Eton schoolboy CDV's which leads me to believe it might have been ordered by a schoolboy for fun, asking the studio to alter their existing negative of the boy to produce this effect.Has anybody seen anything similar or has other thoughts?
