The following stereoview by C.E. Goodman was found in a small private collection. The picture was taken in 1858, probably in the Zillertal (Tyrol), which had been a popular destination for artists and photographers by that time already – at least the traditional dresses suggest the place. The view shows, apart from the local people in traditional costume, the painter Francis John Wyburd (on the far right). Whether the other two gentlemen are the painter George Edwards Hering and maybe Goodman himself, cannot be verified. All three, Goodman, Wyburd and Hering arrived in Innsbruck, coming from Verona, on October 9th, 1858 – thus, on their journey back. They probably undertook the trip into Italy andTyrol coming from Switzerland, since there are no notes available suggesting that they had been in the Tyrol prior tot hat, and, moreover, there are views from Switzerland and the Turin area by Goodman, sustaining this theory.
