Shapes of bottles of the period could suggest the bottle's content. I immediately thought 'ginger beer' being easily and cheaply 'brewed' from an ongoing yeasted 'ginger beer plant'. Except, I wouldn't know if ginger beer was sold in the slim-necked bottles the street vendor of the photo appears to be selling. Although, on further look on web re period bottle shapes one notes mineral and soda water bottles dispensed in tall necked bottles.
